 US charge'd affaires meets Ishaq Dar to discuss relations

US expresses confidence in Pakistan's policies for economic stability

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Andrew Shofar, the Charge'd Affaires of the Embassy of the United States of America, paid a visit to Pakistan's Finance Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq on Wednesday to discuss the bilateral relations between the two countries in the economic and trade sectors.

During the meeting, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar briefed Mr Shofar on the country's economy and discussed the current challenges facing the nation.

The finance minister informed Mr Shofar about the difficult policy decisions taken by the government and the ongoing program of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Ishaq Dar assured the US secretary of state of the government's commitment to completing the IMF program.

Mr Shofar expressed confidence in the policies and programs of the government of Pakistan for economic stability and expressed a desire to enhance trade and economic relations between both countries.

The US charge'd affaires emphasised on the importance of strengthening trade ties between the United States and Pakistan.

In response, Finance Minister Senator Ishaq Dar thanked Mr Shofar and reiterated the government's desire to further expand bilateral trade and investment with the US.
